Wedding Planning: Numbers Increasing

OK, so this weekend we counted that we would have about 120-125 guests at the wedding. This morning my mother estimates we’re at about 146. Crazy. Good crazy, of course, but crazy.

I put together a packet of stuff for our church wedding coordinators that I passed on to the wife on Sunday. Good thing since they leave tomorrow and won’t be back until after Christmas. I have to admit to a slight concern at the lackadaisical attitude I was getting when I mentioned my need for attention to detail. Yes, I realize that things can go wrong. It doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t plan and prepare so that they don’t. I’m no perfectionist, but this is my wedding and I don’t want things to go wrong because someone didn’t do their homework or pay attention. I even joked with her that I was giving her this stuff now so that I don’t turn into Bridezilla at the rehearsal, because I’m telling y’all right now that if she doesn’t do what I want then Bridezilla will make an appearance. I’m not kidding.

The more corsages/bouts I work on the better I get at it. And I’m very pleased with how they’ve turned out. I’ll be meeting with the florist on Monday after work where I will turn over the last of the bouts and hopefully some loose stems.

The seamstress called earlier - she’s ready for my final fitting. I’ll do that on Friday as planned and then we will be able to pick up the dress early next week after it has been pressed/steamed.

And I have a Beau story that I hope he won’t mind me telling. He was hoping to visit some friends on Friday, but our weather is going to be dicey tomorrow and theirs will be worse. So we’ve been trying to figure out the weekend because there’s a lot going on. He emailed to say he was thinking of moving “[his] visit to next Friday instead, what did we have going on next weekend?”

My reply: Um, it’s Christmas next weekend. We have plans.

Things have been a little crazy since Thanksgiving. However, we are happy and excited and blessed beyond measure.

LATER: OTB linked to this post in his Beltway Traffic Jam. I only know that because of his trackback - I can’t get to his page these days because of our firewall. Anyway, this is my thanks to James for the link and traffic.
