The Random

1. We took the kids to Clemyjontri this morning after Molly Ann’s weight check appointment (she is back above her birth weight, which was the goal). It’s a huge park for kids that Beau went to with Jaynee and her kids when they were up visiting a few weeks ago. It’s a bit of a trip to get there, but well worth it. I predict we’ll go back often. We definitely need to brave the Saturday crowds so that Jesse can ride the carousel.

2. We watched Kung Fu Panda this weekend. Very cute. I give it 3.5 stars out of 5.

We started to watch Reservation Road, but I could tell early on that it was not a movie I should be watching with postpartum hormones still running rampant. So we stopped it about 20 minutes in and I sent it back and will add it back to the queue for a much later rental.

I watched Disc 2 of Rome. As predicted, I am now hooked and will watch the whole series. But I’m still not comfortable with the graphic sexual content.

I’ve also watched Lifetime‘s Nora Roberts movies through On Demand. As is usually the case, the novels are way better. But these movies kill a nice chunk of what can be long days of holding and feeding Molly Ann.

I had a hard time getting into CSI: NY when it first came on TV. I’ve been watching the afternoon episodes on Spike and I am now hooked and a big fan.

Finally, imagine my happy surprise to discover that Verizon FiOS On Demand has a section for regular broadcast TV where they stock current episodes of certain series on ABC, NBC, and CBS. So now I’m thinking that I can remove the recording settings from my DVR for shows like CSI, Survivor, LOST, etc. because they have the last 3-4 episodes that aired available for free viewing and without commercials. Awesome.
