The In-Laws Arrive Today
Beau’s family comes into town today. His sister and her daughter and granddaughters are somewhat local (within an hours drive from here) and will be coming down here today. His parents are flying in this afternoon. His cousins will be flying in today, too, but I think we’ll see them tomorrow at the rehearsal dinner.
I’ve been putting away laundry and putting aside the stuff we need to pack for the honeymoon. Beau will return from H’burg this afternoon and then I’ll do one last load of laundry and get him started on his packing, too. It’s looking like it will be warm during the day (60s) and cold at night (30s), so it’s a tough pack. Layering will be key.
Annie is going into the kennel Saturday until Monday. I gathered her stuff this morning and since I won’t have anything to do on Saturday, I’ll drop her off. It’s my only task, aside from getting ready and getting to the church on time.
I need to clean out my car before we pick up his parents at the airport because it’s a complete mess. So I’m getting ready to go do that before it starts raining again. Speaking of which, it’s supposed to rain for most of Saturday, which is a bummer. But I’ll take rain over snow/ice - people will come in the rain but they won’t if it’s freezing and dangerous.
We’re in really good shape and I’m feeling rather calm. I have the butterflies in my tummy of nervous excitement, much like I get before I sing on stage. So it’s all good. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday - there are friends coming that I haven’t seen in years and whom I dearly love. And I’m especially looking forward to meeting Beau’s family and friends about whom I have heard much. Some I have corresponded with by email, so I feel that I already know them a bit. It will be fun to put faces with their “voices.”
I’m praying safe travels for all! See you soon…
