The Friday Five

Today’s FF.

When was the last time you…

1. ...went to the doctor?  Probably when I had Fifth Disease in 2001.

2. ...went to the dentist?  Also in 2001 - I was unemployed with no insurance for a while in 2002. When I got this job, I wasn’t completely happy with the benefits I signed up for and reluctant to pay the deductible for a dentist I might not stick with. Now that I’ve changed plans, I need to get on that.

3. ...filled your gas tank?  I have to fill up every 6 days, usually. I’ll do that tomorrow, most likely. Sunday at the latest.

4. ...got enough sleep?  I usually get 7-8 hours every night. I tend to go to bed at the same time every night and I wake up at the same time every morning.

5. ...backed up your computer?  I haven’t done that, although Dad and I just cleaned it on Saturday. I guess I should back up the important files this weekend.

The Friday Five

Today’s Friday Five:

1. Is the name you have now the same name that’s on your birth certificate? If not, what’s changed?

Yes.

2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be?

I would change my first name from Jennifer to just Jen. Very few people call me by my full name anymore.

3. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?)

I am named after my paternal great-grandmother and my maternal grandmother. I don’t know if anyone was particularly responsible for my name.

4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why?

Boys: I’ve always like the name Caleb, but it’s sort of overused in Christian circles these days. I like Cameron too.

Girls: I love Emma or Emily, but again they’re overused. I’m thrilled that my niece is CootieGirl Paige. I think that’s a lovely name that will serve her well when she’s older.

I don’t really hate any names. Wait - Crystal, Madison, Taylor, Jordan, etc. for girls. Talk about overused.

5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com / triggur.org / astroexpert accurate? How or how isn’t it?

kabalarians.com - no.

triggur.org - yes.

    JENNIFER

From the Irish root meaning “Licker of Toads”

    Expression
    Jennifer is blunt and insensitive.

    Personality
Jennifer is cruel and compassionless in positions of power.

    Natural
Jennifer likes animals-- perhaps too much.

    Emotional
Jennifer is deceptively warm and endearing.

    Character
Jennifer uses violence as a means of self-expression.

    Physical
    Jennifer is often violently flatulent.

    Mental
Jennifer isn’t rowing with both oars.

    Motivation
    Jennifer has an oedipal complex.

I’m not so sure I like or agree with that at all - especially the Physical one. Heh.

astroexpert - yes, and I don’t get any of that crap. It’s all symbols and whatnot, no need to list it here.

The Friday Five

Today’s Friday Five

1. What’s the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country? New Jersey, upon the birth of my niece. Oh, no, actually the last place was Brunswick (Glynco), Georgia, for a training thing. I forgot about that.

2. What’s the most bizarre/unusual thing that’s ever happened to you while traveling?  Nothing really bizarre. I was on the same flight with the 10,000 Maniacs when going from NYC to London in the late 80s.

3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?  Australia and New Zealand, I’ve always wanted to go there. Second choice would be the UK and Ireland. I also keep saying I’ll go to Alaska someday to visit a dear friend who lives in Anchorage.

4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?  It depends on how long I’m actually travelling and where my destination is. I’ve done the train a lot, which is a fine way to travel.

5. What’s the next place on your list to visit?  I’m headed to New Jersey again in a couple of weeks for the dedication of CootieGirl at church. It’s like a baby baptism without the baptism.
