TAR6 Week 6 Standings
Good episode last night - with a surprise ending! My understanding is that next week’s episode is a recapper of the first 6 with footage not seen before. That should be interesting.
As usual, I took some notes that I’ll add later. For now, the quiz answers can be seen here and here are the standings:

***SPOILERS***
1. I won’t detail each little task. I was distracted by a lot of stuff while watching the show last night and it was odd with the To Be Continued at the end.
2. Kendra’s outburst about “doing nothing” versus doing research (on nothing) was odd. Freddy was right that there was nothing they could research since they didn’t know where they were going. Her displeasure with a 2.5 hour wait was ridiculous.
3. Oh, Jonathan. *sigh* He starts of the leg by accusing Victoria of “not carrying your own weight.” To which I yelled at him, “She’s carrying her weight and yours, you moron!” That he was later calling her a “superhero” and a “rockstar” after the Roadblock was sheer madness. Is he bipolar?
4. Roadblock - this should have been the clue that this was not to be a normal episode. An early Roadblock of hot rocket (?) bungee jumping. I love that the women all did the task. I’ve long thought that if I had to I could bungee jump, but that method looked preferable to me. How fun to be shot into the air like that?
5. Next stop Budapest, Hungary. At the Berlin airport Jonathan warmed the hearts of the German ticket agents with his, “You lost us the Race,” on the way to his flight. Jerk. In addition, Jonathan was attempting a big no-no by trying to upgrade their tickets on the earlier flight. They’re supposed to fly coach, although I do think that the upgrade is “legal” since they actually bought coach tickets. Still, I didn’t like it.
6. Clown Cars in Egar, Hungary. I love that Phil called those little cars, “notoriously unreliable.” Heh. Kris calls them “Herbie” cars. Heh. Why was El Hornio driving? Clearly Rebecca knew how to do it once she eventually took the wheel. His response? “You are the king of the game today!” Oh, my, is that funny.
Jonathan displays more compassion for Victoria by slamming the trunk on her hands. I loved when he got pulled over and was disgusted that he was able to charm his way out of a ticket. “It’s amazing what I can do!” he exclaimed after talking the cop into leading them to the Eger Castle. *sniff*
Hayden admits her failings with maps and displays her mad grammar skillz, “You forgot, I am retarded with directions!” *sigh* Oh, and she wore a sweater with sleeves for most of the episode. Amazing!
7. Detour - Catapult Crash vs Cannonball Run: Gus/Hera opt for Catapult and then switch to Cannonball as do Hornio. Rebecca notes that they are the switchingest team on the Detours, which is true. We had a huge belly laugh when El Hornio put the pack of cannonballs on Rebecca’s back instead of just carrying them himself. He is such a wimp! I don’t know why she dated him in the first place, but she’s clued in now.
Jonathan/Victoria opt for cannonballing - when she realizes that the cannon is heavier than she thought, she said, “You gotta be the man and take the front.” To which he lovingly responded, “You gotta be the woman and be quiet.” Hmmm. Victoria is a smart lady on the Race - she pulls a tarp from her pack to use for carrying the cannonballs. He’s an idiot and wraps it around himself like a cape and leisurely strolls around with it when they’ve completed the task. I think he remembered the cameras were there and was trying to show his whimsical side. Sorry, dude - you’re damaged beyond belief already in the eyes of the TV audience. She, wisely grabs the tarp to repack and tells him to hurry up. Heh.
Meanwhile Bolori are having troubles with their clown car and it’s dark by the time they arrive at the Detour.
8. Teams take train to Budapest to go to Net Klub Internet Cafe where they’re supposed to log into AOL (product placement) and get mail. The Cafe opens at 10pm, so there’s bunching while teams arrive and wait for the place to open.
At this point, I’m thinking that maybe Bolori can catch up, but they’re not able to get a train until the next morning. Bummer....
And then we get what we have never gotten before - To Be Continued! Argh! No Pit Stop. No Philimination. Sadness descends.
But wait - in the preview for the next episode I see Victoria eating with Jonathan looming by her side. Is there an eating task finally? We’ll have to wait and see.
