On The Throne

So the news story of the woman who sat on her boyfriend’s toilet for two years is just sad. Bizarre and sad.

Kory McFarren, the woman’s boyfriend, told The Associated Press he wasn’t to blame, although he says he should have gone for help sooner. But he says after a while—quote—“you kind of get used to it.”

Huh?

I really hope that Beau wouldn’t wait two years to get help for me if I wouldn’t leave the bathroom for more than a couple of hours of my own volition. A couple of days later, he should be calling doctors, the fire department, someone. Two years later, he is criminally negligent. My 2 cents.

[UPDATED]: For whatever reason, the link to the story I linked is no longer. So here’s a new link for you. And a snippet:

“The unfortunate thing is this truly is a case of two people, in my opinion, with diminished mental capacity,” Whipple said.

McFarren did not answer his door Thursday, but later called The Associated Press and said he was done giving media interviews. He said he did nothing wrong.

“The only thing I am guilty of is I didn’t get her help sooner,” he said.

On Wednesday, McFarren said his girlfriend, Pam Babcock, 35, had a phobia about leaving the bathroom.

I’ve pasted the entire article behind the link.
