He was is so cute. He’s a denim horse wearing navy blue cordouroy-like overalls. He is implanted with a squeeker. I bought him for Annie.

Now you have to understand that there are many, many discarded formerly-squeeker-implanted dog toys strewn about my apartment. Annie has the jaws and teeth of a Doberman. Within the first 20-30 minutes of life as Annie’s new playmate, that squeeker has her sole attention. Her goal is to get it out of the body. No matter how durable I thought the material was, it proved no match for Annie’s teeth. All of her toys have had “surgery” as I call it. They all have multi-colored stitches all over, primarily in the area where that squeeker used to reside within. She’ll still play with those toys, but they no longer squeek, and they’re days are numbered. Because if she’s able to keep reopening the holes that I’ve sewn up, that toy will get tossed in the trash.

So I carefully inspected Horse (called so not just because that’s what he is, but because it’s embroidered on his overalls bib) for his durability. He’s pretty sturdy. This denim with the cordouroy on the body.

She’s been playing with him for the past 30 minutes. So far, so good. He’s still squeeking when she chomps on him. When it gets quiet I’ll know I’m in trouble. Much like toddler children, when my Annie gets quiet I know she’s getting into mischief.
