When Books Are Too Long

I’m on disc 9 of 19 in The Other Boleyn Girl. And we just got to the part where Anne is about to marry Henry to become Queen of England.

I’m slightly annoyed as much as I’m enjoying the book. It is well written and for the life of me, I can’t figure out how the content to this point could be edited shorter. See, the book is now overdue at the library and I am unable to renew it because there are holds - other people are waiting for it. So I’m paying $.25/day to listen to this book now and I have 10 discs to go.

I think I need to bring it into the house and listen while I work today and Monday. Otherwise I could have bought the paperback for the amount I’ll end up paying in overdue fees to the library.
