Warning: No Blogging This Weekend
Just wanted ya’ll to know that there will be no blogging here this weekend. I’m heading to Beau’s tomorrow early and I won’t be back until sometime on Monday. For those of you on The Chastity Watch, I’ll be crashing at the home of the friends who set up Beau and I. They were our next door neighbors when we lived in England, so they have known me since I was about 6 years old. I’m looking forward to catching up with them and seeing pictures of their kids and grandkids.
Beau and I are going to see SW: Revenge of the Sith tomorrow afternoon. I’m looking forward to it, but I’m going in with Attack of the Clones expectations (read: very low). Man, I hated that movie.
Sunday will be my first visit to his church home, where I’ll get to meet his pastor and friends. I’m told that they are all very curious about me, which is understandable. In the evening we’ll be going to their hymn sing and potluck. You have got to love Baptist church potlucks. I’m excited about the Deviled Eggs that I know will be there. I have never been to a Baptish church potluck that did not have Deviled Eggs. YUM! Our (my) contribution to the food table will be a casserole called Hot Alpine Chicken Salad and I’ll try to remember to post the recipe. It’s easy to make and always a winner.
I’m not sure what the plan is for Monday. We talked about going shooting, but I think that’s out because the range will be closed. I can’t remember what else we talked about doing. I’ll be driving back home in the afternoon anyway.
Tonight I’m going to a jazz band concert - the girl from my old small group who is graduating from high school has her last concert tonight and she invited me to be there. I’m excited to go - the music is always great and I’m excited to see her and her parents since it’s been a while. In the fall, she will be a freshman at the college where Beau teaches. Small world, right?
Oh, and I get to leave at 3pm today - holiday traffic and good will and all that.
Above all, I wanted to thank all of our veterans for their service and note my gratitude for their sacrifice, especially who gave their lives. On this Memorial Day weekend, we do remember and honor the ones who died to keep us safe and free. Thank you, all.
“Chastity Watch”!! You’re one funny dawg, dawg. :wavey: (do you like my Randy Jackson impression?)
Oddly enough, it sounds like a good title for a reality show.
Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!
