Vacation Disaster Potential Before We Even Leave Averted
I’m more impressed with JetBlue after a lengthy phone call with reservations.
Got the email notice today about online check-in. So I started the process and when I got to the seat confirmation page I nearly had a heart attack. Beau, Jesse, and I were in completely different rows. They had Jesse in the middle seat two rows in front of Beau, who was on the other side. I was about 10 rows behind them.
Dear Lord, help me.
So I explained that an 18 month old can’t travel by himself and the nice lady agreed. About 10 minutes on hold later, she came back with new seats for us on both flights.
Oh, yeah, she checked our return flight and those seats had been changed as well.
They have no idea how it happened since the system says that I made the changes. I made no changes after I booked the flights and we selected our seats at that time. That was back in March.
Oh, and our flights are FULL. This is going to be fun.
Yikes! Glad you caught it before it was too late!!
Posted by Gwynne on 07/25/08 at 11:36 AMYeah, I think if I had waited to check in tomorrow at the airport and learned that it would not have been pretty. Panic city.
Posted by on 07/25/08 at 11:41 AMThat exact same thing happened to me when VH, the Big-Eyed Boy and I were flying to Austin on American Airlines.
Okay, I confess: for a moment there it was really, really tempting to go ahead and let the boy sit somewhere else on the plane but ultimately we talked AmAir into letting him sit with my husband in coach while I got upgraded to First Class.
Nice.
Posted by Venomous Kate on 07/25/08 at 03:20 PMFirst class would be nice. Alas, JetBlue doesn’t have first class.
My Dad joked that we should have let the people in the row with Jesse deal with him - it would have made a nice start for Beau and me for the vacation. Right.
