TV: Hell’s Kitchen 3 Finale
Spoilers aplenty, so the post is hidden. Clicky the linky…
I was sad Petrozza lost, however your points on why Christina won are spot on. I read Gordon’s autobiography last year and he delved a lot into how he built his restaurants and in EVERY case he picked young up-and-coming chefs with promise to be in his kitchens, and taught them everything he knows.
Posted by Jaynee on 07/09/08 at 08:07 AMWhen I saw how young all the chefs were in New York, I figured he’d want Christina. It was also the year for a woman, if they play the alternating game. We can already assume next year’s winner will probably be male, most likely white, because that will be the demographic whose turn it is. In 2 years the producers will try to make the winner a woman, preferably non-white. None of them will be especially old. Petrozza was probably never meant to make it so far. It was probably supposed to be Vanessa versus Christina in the final, in terms of expectations when they placed the contestants.
Petrozza winning would have been breaking the mold, but I can see all the reasons for wanting Christina.
I’m waiting for one of the winners to become an actual standout/star chef in their own right, rather than going on to sell knives, work in some random restaurant as just “a chef,” or whatever. It’d also be funny if a runner up was the one to have the outstanding career. I can see Petrozza doing interesting things. Deb thought someone would snap him up and he wouldn’t be doing catering anymore.
Enough of that. I was here trying to get a count of your posts. WordPress hangs at 349 when I try importing over 2000 from my EE blog.
Posted by Jay on 07/09/08 at 08:45 AMWow, I count 5000 posts exactly, at least that are published. One thing my testing showed is that, duh, unpublished posts don’t port over. You have twice as many posts as us.
Posted by Jay on 07/09/08 at 08:57 AMJay, my cp says I have 5000 exactly. Wow.
