The Transporter 2

Yes, Beau and I went to see The Transporter 2.  I don’t think he quite realized what we were going to see, but I got exactly what I expected, except for a lot less profanity. For a fun, ridiculously implausable, stunt fest go see this movie. For the scene with the firehose alone, I can’t wait to rent this when it comes out on DVD. And I will be adding the first movie to my NetFlix queue immediately.

Taking a page from my sister’s rating style, I give this one 2.5 car chases out of 4.

  1. Jen, thanks for the review! The syndicated review in our local paper said this movie was just awful. That was disappointing because we had high hopes for it, since the first movie was surprisingly good. Based on that review, we planned to skip it, but we’ll rethink it based on your recommendation.

  2. Eric, I haven’t seen the first one, but I would think that if you liked the first one you will like the second one. It’s not high cinematic art, but it is pure fun. Lots of car stunts, great fight scenes, much gun play. Mindless fun. Go see.

  3. With few exceptions, reality doesn’t make for enjoyable movies. We go to escape reality (and eat popcorn!). wink

You need to add the first movie to your NetFlix queue.

  4. OK, we saw it this afternoon, and it was just as you advertised! Lots of fun, and setting new standards for implausibility. And with a sequel hinted at, for good measure!

Only downside was that the jerky camera work gave MLB a slight case of motion sickness. Bummer.

  5. Woo! I’m so glad you enjoyed although bummer about the motion sickness. Was she the only woman in the theater? wink

  6. Well, we were practically the only people in the theater (thanks to the early matinee showing AND the really awful review the local paper gave the movie), but, yeah there were a few other women, all accompanying husbands/boyfriends (or vice versa, as in your case). We did see some acquaintances and that’s always fun...it sort of reinforces your choice of movies, for some reason.
