My First Kiss

So I was on my way out the door this morning and yelled up to Beau that I was leaving. He yelled back for me to wait so that I could see Jesse, who had just woken up. They came down the stairs and I got a great, warm grin from Jesse. He gave me a nice headbutt and a zerbert (at Beau’s prompting). Then Beau and I kissed and on a lark I asked Jesse for a kiss.

*hold on a sec, I’ve got something in my eye*

He leaned toward me and touched his lips to my puckered up lips.

I asked for a repeat and without hesitation he kissed me again.

I got my first kiss from my son this morning and my heart melted just a wee bit. It’s a great day.

  1. Aww. I’m looking forward to the day when “kiss” becomes a kiss rather than a lick and an impish grin. wink

  2. Heh. Jesse has only recently started to hug. We haven’t really asked for hugs and kisses since he was pretty generous with the headbutts. I figured I’d get headbutts for life (and really, I still love that idea because it’s so unique and totally Jesse). But I’m really happy to get kisses now.

What was especially cute was the almost shy smile he gave after the first kiss. Like he was slightly embarrassed, but pleased, too.
