He was just leaving the campus after meeting with the chairman of the PoliSci department and talking to a couple of the professors. He was a little nervous at first because the chairman’s door sported a “Nobody died when Clinton lied” sticker. He did see that one of the other professors had a Bush sticker, though. He came away feeling pretty good overall.

It looks like the timeline for hiring is that they’ll start to evaluate resumes in the next week or so and when they have the top candidate picked from that list they will invite that person to the campus for a visit and to guest lecture. If they like what they hear, they’ll make an offer. If not, then they’ll move on to the next on the list.

They did tell Beau that he’d be in the top of the stack for evaluating now that they’ve met him and had a chance to talk to him. So it sounds like the visit was a very good idea after all, especially if it turns out he gets the gig.

Now we pray in earnest.

5. Found out this morning that I might have a lead on the FMU thing from a guy at my office - I’ve got a call scheduled with him in the next hour or so.  I’ll let you know what I find out.
