Via Jared at Thinklings, a bizarre and amusing meme. How it works:

Type “[your first name] needs” into Google’s search engine and list the first ten results. Nearly all will be amusing, but you’re supposed to underline the ones that are actually true about you.

Here are mine…

1. Jen needs a break. (Yes! I do.)

2. Jen needs to have a session or two with a therapist. (I need that, too, yes.)

3. Jen needs her inner time. (Also true.)

4. Jen needs to get back to reality. (Already there, thanks.)

5. Jen needs to be a My Little Pony! (This has to be the funniest one of the bunch. O-kay.)

9. Jen[nie] Needs A Shooter. (Um, depends on your definition of “shooter.")

10. Jen[ny] needs to understand that Adam does not carry his violent responses beyond his tools…

Paging down, I finally came upon this: “...given that with her special needs, Gwynne may require special services involving additional costs...” Heh, yeah!

There was “...for your Gwynne flower needs.” Gwynne flowers? I’ve not seen those, but I’m sure they are lovely.

Beau’s needs with his real name:

1. **** Needs Your Help! (This seems to be a common denominator)

2. **** probably needs a life. Or a chocolate shake ... (this one made me laugh out loud)

3. **** needs your money Yup.

4. **** needs to be locked up (Um, not until January 1 and then only with me. )

5. **** needs to have a relationship with the other entities (OK, I don’t know who these “other entities” are, but I’m not giving him over.)

6. **** needs a team of committed people to pray for him and his ministry ... (Yes, he does and we appreciate the support.)

7. **** needs some damn money (Heh. OK, he (We) needs money, but really, is the profanity necessary?)

8. **** needs to get Martin Sargent set up before he moves back to SF so we can

Oh, I am definitely now. Beau’s Sis, those are HILARIOUS (sounds like we both need more money for “special” services)! As is Beau’s chocolate shake (what a Shakespearean choice...give me life, or give me that chocolate shake).

Gwen, it’s pronounced guinineenee (by some). But mostly it’s Gwin. I answer to many variations on the theme, including Gwinnie the pooh. It hurts that my parents chose the male spelling for my name, but there’s therapy for that. And you?

Heh, I like this meme.. really funny.

Gwynne, I didn’t realize that Gwynne was the male spelling of the name, interesting. When I first saw it I thought “gwine” but I knew that couldn’t be right.

Gwen, in my case, is short for Gwendolyn but no one ever calls me that thankfully. Makes me feel like a heroine in a trashy novel for some reason. Mostly I am Gwen, though a few choice friends get away with Gwennie or Guinivere..

I’ve answered to “gwine” before too. I like the names Guinevere ("Guinevere needs Arthur’s military protection") and Genevieve ("Genevieve needs an au pair for the summer")...these sound so much more elegant than gwine, don’t you think?

I think your name is lovely, Gwynne! Since you’re the only person I know who has that spelling, I will say that it’s the girl version.

Jami needs me for a sort of cultural remix experiment.
Jami needs a martini. (I guess. Never had one!)
