Humpy Style*

*Hey there, Google pervs. This post ain’t for you!

Holly has bestowed the nickname “Humpy” on my pooch, Annie. Annie has a fatty deposit on her back that most would call a “lump” but Holly calls a “hump.” Hence the nickname. She’s said it enough when calling for Annie that Annie now responds to it, which is pretty funny.

Where the “style” comes in is that Annie does this little dance when she’s begging for food. Her front legs kind of tap back and forth in her agitation.

So a few weeks ago Holly went to her mom and started imitating the Annie dance with her arms, asking for some kind of snack. ECD looked at her in confusion, “What are you doing?”

Holly: “I’m doing the Humpy! Humpy style!”

My dog has a dance.

  2. It’s very sweet. Holly absolutely LOVES Annie - she wants to snuggle her so badly, but Annie will have none of that. I’ve tried to tell her that Annie won’t even let me hug her but I don’t think she believed me until I showed her last night. I hugged Annie and she immediately started snarling and trying to get away. Holly thought that was hilarious and now she feels better that Annie won’t let her hug. But she does tolerate petting and scratching - so she’s made great progress with kids.

Olivia and Duncan will be fine with her if Annie lives that long. wink
