End of a Local Radio Era
Don Geronimo’s last show is today.
Don Geronimo has chosen to accelerate his retirement and step down from his current position as co-host of the Don and Mike Show. Co-host Mike O’Meara will continue the show with familiar cast members, Buzz Burbank, Robb Spewak, and Joe Ardinger. Additionally, Beth Ann McBride is returning as Executive Producer of the program and will have an on-air role.

Meanwhile, Don will return on Friday, April 11 to host a farewell show and thank his legions of listeners for their continued support over the years.
I heard this news this morning when I was cleaning the dog crate. It kind of makes me sad, because I’m sure the death of his wife, Freda, a couple of years ago is a large part of his decision. I saw an interview with him on TV a few months ago and he is still grieving hard and not the same man.
I stopped listening to the show a few years ago when they got a bit too crass, even for my ears. But I have fond memories of belly laughing through either my morning or evening commute for years because of Don and Mike.
Farewell, Don, from a long time fan.
[UPDATE]: Here’s the link to their podcasts.
Are you working from home today? I’d love it if you could tape the show for me and send me the tapes.
