Commissioned and Close to My Heart
The aircraft carrier George H. W. Bush was commissioned today. For specs info, click here.
I have a soft spot for President Bush (41) for many reasons - he reminds me of my grandfather, my first Presidential electoral vote was for him, he’s a Navy veteran. So this particular commissioning is special to me.
And then, during the ceremony, the CNO announced that the USS Bush will replace the soon to be decommissioned Kitty Hawk. This news brought tears to my (pregnancy-hormone induced) eyes because that was the carrier upon which my father served.
Fair winds and following seas to the crew of the USS Bush and thank you for your dedicated service.
Let’s just hope they don’t dedicate anything to the current Bush. When do you think Clinton will get an carrier named after him? Glad to see your hormones are still working. Three more months and you shouldn’t be weepy over metal anymore. Are you sharing baby names with your loyal readers? Can’t wait to meet her (or him, if it turns out they misread the sonograms.)

And I’m equally sure that at some point something will have his name. And as sure that Bush 43 will also have something named after him - the military actually do like our current president, you know.
Baby names are at TG, but you saw that post. And we won’t know the sex of the baby until the birth day.
