Clean Bill of Health

We got back from Harrisonburg yesterday afternoon and almost immediately I had to take Annie to her annual vet appointment. Since I had moved this was a new vet office, but I like them a lot and I’m almost convinced to keep taking her there even after Beau and I are married and moved out of this general area - it will be worth the longer drive to take Annie someplace where she’s well cared for by gentle women since she has a deep fear of the vet and male vets make it worse.

Anyway, she has lost a pound or two, which is good - she’s now 31.6 pounds. The doc said she looks very healthy and she was surprised that she’s 16 years old. She said there’s no evidence of severe arthritis in her joints because of her good mobility and she noted how energetic Annie is. Hear heart sounded good and her bloodwork came back clear. The one thing she mentioned (as they all have over the years) is her teeth, but she said that they even look good for 16 years and she wouldn’t push cleaning too hard.

Overall, I have a very healthy dog and she wouldn’t be surprised if Annie makes it to 20 years of age; she said she thought Annie might make it longer. Nice to hear.

  2. I know. She thought getting the teeth cleaned would guarantee the additional 4 years. That is crazy.
