Butternut

It was time to color my hair again, so I did that last night. I was feeling it was also time to move back towards my natural dark blonde/light brown shade but still staying on the blonde side of things. As such I am now a darker blonde - it’s still a surprise to see the shade in the mirror, but I like it. The only glitch is that the formerly super light blonde strands by my face are now slightly dingy beige where the hair towards the back is a richer color. So I think I’ll stop at Sally’s Beauty Supply tonight to buy some lighter blond to highlight that area a bit to correct it.

The hair color I used was Garnier Nutrisse Cream - Butternut.

  1. I’m Macadamia Nut (I like the Garnier Nutrisse colors), which is just a little lighter than my natural shade, which is Dull Dirty Strawberry Blondish-Brown.

  2. I like macadamia nuts, and butternut squash, does that count? smile I get mine highlighted at the salon - pricey, sure, but better than anything I could manage on my own. I can’t work a round brush, I am not risking color. As such, however, I don’t have a cool color name to say - it’s just numbers. Ah well. Sounds pretty!

  3. Yeah, I like Garnier products a lot. I use their Fructis stuff, too.

Usually I get my hair color from Sally Beauty Supply because I can color my hair three times with one little bottle of color goo. The bottle of developer goo lasts for dozens of colorings. This because I rarely completely saturate my whole head of hair - I touch up the roots and then use a wide toothed comb to blend the color goo through the hair. It gives a more natural look with highlights, is less stressful to the hair that’s already been colored, and takes less time.

I ended up using the whole kit last night because I wanted the whole color change, but it needs some brightening.
