But In Other News…

For those commiserating with me about the loss of the job promotion, take heart. Good things are afoot.

There’s a new project underway.

  8. Thanks, y’all.

    Marmie, I knew that. wink

We’re working on names. We’ve already been told my Beau’s niece who is also pregnant and due a couple of weeks before I am, that Caleb is taken. Our girl’s name is also taken by the couple in our small group who are expecting their daughter any day now. So we’re starting from scratch, but we have some possibilities being thrown around.

  9. Congratulations!!!  How’d you manage to stay so quiet about this when you were here in California?!

Don’t feel limited by names that are “taken”.  There were two cousins last weekend with the same first name, born fairly close together, and I don’t think it’s ever been a problem.  Of course, you could always use those names as middles names… grin

I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter, someone at church suggested we couldn’t name her Rachel because “we” already had a Rachel at church.  “WE”????  Oh please!  Eleven years later whoever that was isn’t even around anymore.

  11. Karen, we did share the news with Beau’s parents when we first got there. We just sort of the let the news drift out from there. I was still on the fence about waiting a bit longer to tell folks, but I’m bad at keeping good secrets.

  12. Congratulations, Jen and Beau!!  This good news far outshines the disappointment of not getting the promotion, and thinking about the stress of new responsibilities at a time when you’re feeling queasy makes me believe now just wasn’t the right time.  You’ll get the (or “a") promotion when the timing is better.

I agree with Karen on the names...pick the name that’s right for you regardless of who else may also use it.  Says she who nixed “Michael” (for my grandson) because my nephew already has the name. wink

  13. There were actually 3 pregnant women at the reunion!  Isaac’s mom was also pregnant, which I didn’t find out about until Monday!

  14. You couldn’t tell that she was pregnant? She’s due in December and looked pregnant to me.
