Before Hitting the Road
1. Annie is groomed and vetted. The groomer was a bit overzealous with the shaver and actually shaved her tail. That’s the first time that has happened. Turns out it’s kind of short under all that hair. And she looks rather skinny this time, too. But Beau remembered to tell them to leave her face alone, so she’s still got the cute eyebrows and beard.
The folks at the vet were very sweet about Annie going into retirement down south. The doc took meticulous notes for her records that will be handed off to ECD this weekend. Now we need to gather all of the Annie crap to load into the car. That’s a lot of stuff.
2. We’re taking my mother’s car because it’s large. Good thing. My mother loaded it up with all of the Christmas gifties for the Cooties. You’d think they have a dozen kids with the number of pretty boxes that are in the cargo area. I fear bows may get mangled when we’re forced to stack the boxes to make room for the dog stuff and our own gifts for the Cooties. I still need to wrap said gifts, which I will work on after posting this.
3. I think the cat knows something is up. He just spent the better part of 20 minutes clinging to my back and nuzzling the back of my head. He hasn’t done that in about a year.
4. I’m about done with Predator - last disc. I’m debating whether or not to finish listening to it in the car. Beau may not like the content, especially as it gets to the end. Plus, Cornwall novels tend to be a wee bit graphic since her main character is a forensic pathologist. It was better than the last one - 2.5 to 3 stars of out 5, I guess.
Now I’m going to go fold the last of the laundry, wrap Christmas gifts, feed Jesse lunch (he woke up super late this morning, so his schedule is off, but that’s Ok since we’re facing a 7 hour car ride), and whatever else I can get done before Beau gets home and we reload the car.
Have a great weekend!
