Annie is Well
Thanks for the concern for Annie (see the post below for yesterday’s scare story). She’s doing well this morning - pretty much back to normal. The only thing I can tell for sure is that she’s almost completely deaf. She can hear a little bit if you’re right next to her. So we’ll all be yelling at her from now on. Poor thing.
Thank God for her improvement.
When I started reading your post, I thought heartworms. We once had a dog who exhibited those same symptoms (except for the eyes shooting side to side), and that’s what it was. I was going to suggest taking her to the vet immediately until I read that the symptoms included the eye thing. Good medical practice on your part, Jen. Don’t you need a license for that?

I’m certain it’s Vestibular Syndrome - the write up was her to the smallest detail in the symptom list. Her quick recovery confirms it for me too.
I was trying to save a trip to the vet on a Sunday, yes. I’m glad a search on “canine stroke” paid off so well with information.

Good for you for thinking on your feet, I just would have probably gone out of my mind if I had seen that happen to Saffron.
Posted by on 09/20/05 at 10:13 AMI was a little panicked for a few minutes.
