Ah, Blessed Sleep

Good night’s sleep last night. We both woke up at about 1am, but neither of us could remember why when we woke up at 5:30am.

I think two things helped Beau sleep through:

1. He didn’t take a nap when he got home from school. He had done that every other day this week. I encouraged him to gut it out without the nap so that he’d be more tired when he went to bed. He also mowed our front lawn and pulled weeds, so that physical activity probably helped a bit, too.

2. We ran the box fan, facing Annie. She was reluctant to lay on her bed at first, but we encouraged her over there and she settled down pretty quickly. I don’t know if that helped her stay cool, but she didn’t really pant much this morning. We’ll still take her to be groomed tomorrow, too.

  1. Yay for sleep!  (I’ve been reminded with both Beau’s sleep issues lately and Tim’s of the BNL song “Who Needs Sleep” that has a line in there: “There’s guys’ve been awake since the second World War.” Always makes me chuckle.) Sleep is good.

  2. BNL?

    Ah, Bare Naked Ladies…

    Sleep is good, indeed.

  3. Ah, blessed sleep, indeed!  I suppose the naps are a vicious cycle...absent sleep the night before, he probably needs a nap, but that just sets him up for a sleepless night.  Glad the fan worked too!
