Cold Call Request

If your son was putting in for Eagle Scout would you call your local US Marshals office to ask if anyone could/would write a recommendation for said son?

Seems to me that the recommendation should come from someone who actually knows the kid, no?

I referred the mother (who was calling on behalf of her son clearly) to HQ - partly because of this (and yes, I realize the grammar is dreadful in that notice. I plan to forward it to the webmaster with edits for correction).
