ALEXANDRIA, VA.—Four teenagers who were already under investigation for alleged counterfeiting may have compounded their problems by allegedly attacking one of the witnesses in the case.



Officers said the four are all 18-year-olds who graduated from South Lakes High School this year. They are all from middle-class families in Reston. 



On July 25, police said the four teens attacked one of the witnesses in the counterfeit investigation. According to court documents, David Post, Adam Blake, Joseph Bleich and Trevor Harvey have been charged with beating the witness and saying he would “die in the hood for snitching.”



They have charged with tampering with a federal witness.



Investigators believe the four are among eight teens who printed about $4,000 in fake $20 bills. Officers say the fake money was given to other students or spent at local businesses.



Officers began the investigation into counterfeit money on June 6. However, no charges have been filed yet. The investigation into the counterfeit money is still going on.
