A Few Things
1. In the never-ending saga at work, it turns out that there was a conference call on Friday between the Chief, my boss, Useless One, and Amazing One. I won’t question why I was left out, but I was. Anyway, the Chief told me that the plan put forth by Useless One will be implemented (to my immense aggravation) as soon as it is possible to get the two new admins trained on a specific task. He said he wanted to have a follow-up with my boss, Amazing One, me, and my back up to go over my part of the task to make sure that my back up will be well covered while I’m out. I assured him that I’ve already worked with her and Amazing One to make sure she’s OK. So we lost the skirmish, but the Chief did assure me that if this plan does not work, we will revisit it.
2. It’s so hard to believe that we’ll have our baby in just six more weeks. The time has flown. When I was in the worst of the morning sickness I thought I’d never make it to this point. Now I’m starting to dread the post-surgery pain that I know is coming even as my excitement for meeting the little one grows.
There’s still a lot of stuff we need to do at home to get ready. The nursery is still a mess and there’s a pile of stuff on my side of the bed that needs tending to so that we can move a rocking chair and the bassinet into that space.
3. I really like my new small group. We’re a group of 10 women and come from eclectic backgrounds and ages, although all seem to be mature Christians. So far we’ve clicked together pretty well and I’m looking forward to really getting to know these women better over the next 18 months.
In a cool small world thing, the husband of one of the women is in Beau’s small group.
4. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am that my diabetes monitoring ends when the baby is born. The testing and food tracking is getting tedious.
5. I know I’ve said this repeatedly here, but I cannot express how much I adore my husband enough. I love you, Beau!
The same goes for my adorable son, who gives me so much joy each day. There were a lot of giggles yesterday, which I store up and treasure on these days when I’m not there.
I have to thank the Lord, for He is the One who gave this wonderful little family to me. Well worth the wait.
