The POD was empty by about 1pm. The only snafu was that we (the guys) were unable to get the entertainment armoire down the stairs to the basement, so our TV room is the living room on the main floor. Beau really didn’t want the TV to be on the main floor, but we just couldn’t make it work, so instead both of our computers will be in the basement and that will be a TV-free zone for him. That means we can make the third bedroom another guest bedroom.

There’s so much to do - boxes everywhere. And I still need to haul the stuff at my parents house over there. So I’ll be in between houses for the next week while I work on getting out of my parents’ house and get my own house inhabitable. The computer never got dismantled on Friday; I don’t know when that will happen.

Oh, yeah! We have the marriage license in hand. Woo! Getting to the county courthouse was a challenge since there is a lot of construction around the complex, but we got in and out of there in an hour.

After that we decided to explore where the Target is by the house. I knew there was one, but I wasn’t sure exactly where it was. Turns out that it’s on the other end of our street, which we hadn’t driven down yet. So we bought a bunch of supplies and dropped them at the house on Friday night. We can walk to the Target it’s that close, but you would never know it by how our neighborhood is set up. Cool!

We have early church this morning and probably brunch with Mom and Dad and then I would like to take more stuff over there. Beau thinks we should rest today since it is Sunday. I’m lazy enough that I may go along with that. So we’ll see what happens.

And I have to mention that the weather this weekend is gorgeous - 70s and sunny, although I see that today is supposed to be stormy? This is not normal weather for November around here.

Beau is coming up this afternoon and we’re headed to the county courthouse to get our marriage license. Then we will head over to the house to do the walk-thru together and mark down all of the minor things and dings that we did not cause. I also need to make a trip to Target to pick up those things that you usually have in your house but you never seem to have at hand when you move and you know you will need them - you know, like toilet paper, soap, and paper towels? We’ll probably start to unload some stuff from the POD tonight, too.

I plan to dismantle the computer, take it to the house, and get that set up tonight, if possible. There may not be any posting for most of the weekend. If you need something to read, check the lists at the right - plenty of good blogs over there to peruse.

Jared posted a request for readers for Disco Shaman’s newly finished novel. Since I enjoyed his blog, when it was active, I put my name in the mix as a potential reviewer.

Disco was kind enough to email the manuscript to me yesterday and as soon as I complete the Vince Flynn novel I’m currently reading, I shall take on Knox’s Irregulars.

I’m looking forward to it.

I forgot to mention that I got booted from the pool a few weeks ago. After my stellar play last season, I’m sorely disappointed in my game this season.

Maybe it has something to do with how incredibly “meh” this season is? I don’t know.

What I do know is ***LAST NIGHT’S EPISODE SPOILERS AHEAD*** that the former Nakumites were dumb to keep Jamie around for another coupla days. What a complete jerk that one is; the alliance is not worth the drama that keeping him will include. Of course, it makes for good TV ratings, I suppose.

Oh, and I’m finding Probst’s play-by-play on challenges more annoying with each successive season.

Or maybe I’m just losing interest in reality TV.

***thinks about that for another second***

Nah. I’ll take bad TAR or Survivor over any of the insipid sitcoms on TV these days. Talk about meh.

LATER: Just for the record:

1. Lunch was some delicious chicken lasagne at a local Italian place that we took my Dad to for his birthday celebration.

2. I haven’t really watched any TV since TAR on Tuesday since I was at a church thing last night and I haven’t been home most of today.

3. The last time I worked on the bead stems was also on Tuesday night - I made 20.

4. I wasn’t at work today and therefore didn’t talk to any wacko prisoner family members or clueless people looking for their divorce decrees.

Jaynee and Denis arrived late last night. I was sound asleep when they got here, so I don’t know what time they arrived. And I probably won’t see them until we all meet up for lunch later. We’re celebrating my father’s birthday today (it’s on Monday) while they are here in town. The leave this afternoon to go visit our grandmother in south-central VA before they continue on to North Carolina tomorrow for Jaynee’s and my college homecoming. I have to miss that since I’m moving into my house this weekend.

The POD is scheduled to be delivered at the house between 9am and noon according to the email and phone message I got last night. The washer repair guy is supposed to arrive at the house at around 10am. So I’m getting ready to hit the shower and then I’ll haul some kitchen things and already packed up clothes over to the house to unload while I wait.

It’ll be a boring morning for the most part.

Then I’ll meet up with the family for a birthday lunch.

After lunch I’ll pick up the cable boxes and modem at the local cable office.

I was lamenting to my boss yesterday about how much time I’ve had to take off lately, but that none of it has been to just chill out. I am really looking forward to my honeymoon - a true vacation that I get to share with my love. It’ll be so nice to sleep in and not have every day filled with stuff that needs doing. Bliss.

So part of my meeting with Management Dude was him handing over work notices for some things that need repair:

1. There’s a tree stump in the backyard that needs removing. Once that is gone, the management company plans to reseed the backyard, which is a rather scraggly-looking potential mud pit. Management Dude is hoping to reseed before the cold weather really sets in so that we have nice grass for Annie to kill with her pee and to p00p on. (We, in my family, call our doggie backyards The Poopeteria.) Nice of him, no?

2. Apparently, the half bath on the main floor isn’t working. The water is turned off on that toilet until it is fixed. I’m not too worried about that since we have 3 other toilets available in the house. However, I did talk to the plumber who has that contract and he’ll be coming out next Friday to fix it. I and my wedding hairdresser will be practicing with my hair and headpiece on that day, so he’ll get to enjoy the twittery conversation we have about the wedding.

3. The washing machine is not working properly, too. Fortunately, the repair guy for that is able to come to the house tomorrow morning while I wait for the POD to be delivered. My luck, the POD will arrive at 7am and the washer dude won’t arrive until 10am and I’ll be stuck in an empty house with nothing to do but enjoy the silence and space. Actually, I will take a bunch of stuff over there - probably some kitchen things. And a book to read.

What’s great about all of this is that we don’t have to pay a penny for it since they are repairs needed after the previous tenant.

Have I mentioned that moving is a pain, though?

Just got a call from the auto body shop. My car is in the “painting phase” and will be ready to be picked up at the end of next week.

Two weeks to paint the rear end of my car?

Hmmm…

I’ll be happy to have Silverado back, though. I miss my power windows and locks.

Honestly, I love TAR, but this is the suckiest season EVER. *sigh*

Men Break Down Ladies Room Door to Save Woman From Attacker:

TYSONS CORNER, Va. (AP) - It must have been some scene in a Tysons Corner office building as a group of men kicked in the ladies room door to rescue a woman being attacked inside.

According to Fairfax County police, the trouble began around midday yesterday, when a woman trying to leave a bathroom in the Greensboro Drive building found a man blocking the way.

The suspect knocked her to the ground, got on top of her and tried to pull her pants off. She was screaming, which prompted someone else to open the door.

That person was also attacked by the man. The door, meanwhile, closed and locked again. So a group of men kicked it open to rescue the woman, who wasn’t seriously hurt.

They also held the suspect for police.

Bizarro, but good for those men who came assist the woman.

Not much to say today. I have timekeeping today. I have to take a long lunch to go meet with the Management Dude for the lease/rent check-key swap. Woo!

What’s weird is that I have this sense that I had something that I wanted to post and yet I cannot imagine what it’s about. Because while I normally have things rolling around in my head, I’ve had a pretty blank mind this morning.

I’m tired and in need of a vacation. Seriously.

We’re less than 60 days away from the wedding. I can hardly wait.
