It’s My Bedtime…

...and I’m struggling a bit. I usually go to bed at around 10-10:30pm. We’re approaching 11pm and I’m getting really sleepy. The peanut M&Ms I ate earlier probably didn’t help since I’m sure I’m on a sugar crash about now, too.

I’m avoiding comfortable seating at all costs. It’s so tempting to join Annie on the sofa for a little snuggle and snooze. *yawn*

I’m not too worried, though - I’ll hit a second wind sometime after midnight.

For now, I’ve turned off TAR2 Finale and will watch The Ultimate Carson Collection, disc 1 instead. I need laughter! Something.

International Justice Mission: Redux

This post is recycled from earlier today for anyone who missed the morning blogging.

So we’re blogging for charity today - I and a few hundred of my blogger friends.

The charity I have chosen is International Justice Mission.

International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery, and oppression.

IJM’s Four Fold Purpose:
* Victim Relief - Relieve the victim of the abuse currently being committed.

* Perpetrator Accountability - Bring accountability and just consequences under the law to the specific perpetrator(s) of abuse.

* Structural Prevention - Prevent the abuse from being committed against others who are also at risk by strengthening community factors that are likely to deter potential oppressors, reduce the vulnerability of at-risk populations and empower local authorities to stop such abuses.

* Victim Aftercare - Provide access to services to help victims transition to their new lives and to encourage long-term success.

Question #7 Answered

The seventh in a series of questions posed by readers. This from Princess Jami.

Which one of your fake celebrity boyfriends reminds you most of Beau? It can be looks or personality or both.

This is tough because the answer is none of them. Really. None of them look like him. Neither to they seem like his personality.

If I had to pick a celebrity he most resembles, I would pick Jimmy Stewart. He’s tall and lanky like Stewart but he’s also genuine, earnest, trustworthy, and oozes integrity like Stewart. And he’s got the big smile. But he really doesn’t look like him. He looks only like Beau. smile

Love the Aspiring Jedi

Howie cracks me up. He’s so over the top, but I can see how he and Rachel are such good friends. He acts like an idiot, but it’s all for show. However, the whole Jedi thing is at a whole separate level. Part of me thinks he’s kidding about that for TV. But most of me thinks he’s completely, 100% for real about wanting to be a Jedi.

That said, he’s much smarter than people give him credit for. He could win BB6 if he plays it smart.

Julie Chen is Kind of Smarmy

Bummer about Kaysar getting evicted. Yay that he’ll be coming back when America votes to return a houseguest - because I agree with Jaynee’s assessment.

I don’t like the “live” Thursday episodes for a couple of reasons:

1. Julie Chen is wooden and smarmy.

2. The houseguests act all sweet and light for the “live” show - it’s like they have forgotten that we see them when it’s not live, too. Completely fake - down the seemingly loving hugs they bestowed on Kaysar when he left. Who do they think they’re kidding?

HOH Howie is hilarious. He plays at kooky, but he’s crafty. This will be interesting.

LATER: Just for the record - I voted for Kaysar to return. Go to CBS.com to cast your vote - for Kaysar.

Question #6 Answered

The sixth in a series of questions posed by readers. This from Gwynne (curious, isn’t she?).

What color will you paint the walls in your new home together?

Well, now that depends. We will rent at the start of our marriage and so the walls will be white. Once we get to the point of buying a home that will open up the options, of course. And at that point we may have purged some of my older furniture (because remember, Beau brings nothing except his recliner and some books to the marriage smile ) and bought new and whatever that is will determine any painting that might be done.

Are you a white wall person, or colored walls?

Yes - depends on the room, the decor, and what you’re going for in the look.

Or (God forbid) wall paper?

Hmmm, there are times when I like wall paper. For instance, I picked out a nice wallpaper for the kitchen that was built for the basement in my parents’ house and 10 years later I still like it. I also like the wallpaper my mother has in her kitchen and in her dining room. Some rooms are better suited for wallpaper.

And then, the obvious question, “what color is the wall?”

Thursday. grin

On the DVR

I’m tapped out and getting sleepy already. Not surprising since I woke up like normal this morning. I usually start to crash at about 8:30 or 9pm. So I’ll struggle for the next couple of hours and then I’ll catch a second wind.

In the meantime, my parents have abandoned the basement and I’m free to watch what I want on the TV. That means the DVR is working and I’m watching Thursday’s recorded BB6. I’ll follow that up with tonight’s (currently recording) BB6.

After that - TAR3 from the beginning.

Ah...blessed reality TV. lol

TAR3 Cartoons

Via Neil (again) come pretty funny TAR3 cartoons. You have to have seen the season to get the jokes.

I think they’re all family friendly - I haven’t looked at them all, to be honest.

Question #5 Answered

The fifth in a series of questions posed by readers. This from fellow ‘thonner Eric.

Have you told Beau about your addiction to Kozy Shack Rice Pudding? And if not, when were you planning to tell him? (Oops. I guess that takes care of both questions. Never mind.)

You told him, really.

Actually, I don’t consider it a true addiction. However, I don’t buy it for fear of not being able to stop eating it. Good stuff, that.

I Got Nothin’

Took Annie upstairs to go outside. Mom’s fixing dinner. Dad was here in the basement but disappeared while I was in the kitchen. Mr. Kitty is snoozing on the sofa.

And we’ve completed 8 full hours - 1/3 of they way there…
